WHAT WE DO

Therapeutic
assessment

We provide assessments and treatment of children of all ages and challenges. Our aim is to support children and their families reach their potential through education and therapy.

Assessments: A thorough history interview is done with parents prior to assessments to gain insight into the child’s presenting problems and parental concerns.

Therapy &
Treatment

We offer individual and group therapy sessions dependant on the child and family’s needs and means. Sessions range between 30 and 60 minutes and are usually held once or twice a week for a period of 6- 8 months after which a reassessment is conducted and recommendations are made.

We have special interests in the following fields:

  • Children presenting with sensory processing difficulties
  • Infants who are at risk due to prematurity or developmental delay
  • Children struggling with preschool / foundation phase learning within their academic environment
  • Children with conditions such as CP, ADHD and hyperactivity, genetic disorders and syndromes

teacher &
parent training

We see a need for education and training of parents and teachers and thus run workshops to address relevant topics. Please contact us should you be interested in more information about this.’

A culture of learning and keeping up with current knowledge and research is important to us and we thus regularly attend workshops and courses and are trained in Sensory Integration.

OTHER ACTIVITIES WE OFFER

  • Home visits and recommendations
  • Block Therapy (Intensive Individual Occupational Therapy using a Ayres Sensory Integration approach 3-5 times per week for up to three weeks. This has been proven to be hugely successful for children with self regulation and Sensory Processing Difficulties.)
  • Talks and information evenings
  • Aqua Therapy
  • Clay Occupational Therapy shares a premises and works very closely with Bloom School for children with Special Needs. An holistic multidisciplinary approach is used in the management of each child.
